About Resonance

Sound. Stillness. Connection.

Resonance grew from a lifelong relationship with music and a first experience with sound that I knew I wanted to share with others.

Music has been the focus of my career as a music educator and composer. When I attended my first sound bath and heard crystal singing bowls for the first time, I was struck by the beauty and purity of their tones—and by how peaceful and centered I felt afterward.

That evening, I slept more deeply than I had in a long time.

I knew I wanted to learn how to play the bowls.

I began studying the practice, acquired my own set of crystal singing bowls, and became certified to offer sound baths.

Resonance grew from there.

Why Resonance?

The word resonance has a special meaning for me.

In music, resonance is the vibration and richness that occurs when sound connects with a space, an instrument, and our ears.

But resonance can also describe something more personal—the feeling of connecting with an experience, an idea, a place, or a group of people.

That's what I hope Resonance can offer: an opportunity to experience the beauty of sound while finding moments of stillness, connection, and community.

The Art of the Sound Bath

As a lifelong musician, composer, and music educator, I hold a PhD and have spent more than 40 years studying, creating, and teaching music. I approach each sound bath as a carefully shaped musical experience.

My understanding of harmony, rhythm, tone, dynamics, and silence informs how I work with the seven bowls—their individual voices, their relationships to one another, and the way their sounds unfold over time.

Rather than simply playing the bowls, I think about how each sound leads to the next: when to introduce a new tone, when sounds should overlap, when to create space, and when silence itself should become part of the experience.

The result is a soundscape that develops gradually, giving the listener an opportunity to settle into the sound, notice its changing textures, and simply listen.

There is no musical knowledge required to appreciate the experience. My role is to shape the musical journey; yours is simply to listen and experience it in whatever way feels natural.

Welcome to Resonance

Whether this is your first sound bath or you've been attending for months, you are welcome here.

I look forward to creating a space where we can share the beauty of sound, make room for stillness, and build a community that grows one sound bath at a time.
